Being away at college is a fun experience, but it is also very busy and stressful. There is a lot of work to be done and a lot of good times to experience. That is why when the holiday times are approaching it is a good idea to send your loved one that is away at college a box of holiday cheer. Send a wonderful letter telling them all about what is happening at home and be sure to sign it with a lot of love and hugs and kisses.

Wish them well, as they will be very busy trying to study for finals and get everything completed before they return home for their winter breaks. Getting a package in the mail is always looked forward to by a college student. They love to receive them, so make sure that you make a wonderful one with a holiday theme and get it to them soon so they can use the items that you send to get ready for the holidays.

Send them a lot of stamps and a box of Christmas cards so they can begin sending out their holiday greetings in between classes, studying, finals, and fun. If they have all the items it is much easier for them to get started. Planning a trip to the mall or stores can be difficult when they are up at college because many students do not have vehicles. When they have the items right there they will be able to send out their Christmas cards in a timely fashion.

Lots of snacks are also very popular at any time of the year, but especially during the holiday season. M&M’s, Hershey Chocolate Kisses, and other candies are more than welcome. Cheese crackers are popular and of course, chocolate bars and other sweets are always welcome. If you want to send something different, then consider a fruit basket as another welcome item.

A care package should include any copies of pictures that you might have taken over the last few months that you think they might want to see. Of course, include in the care package any mail that may have accumulated for them.

Money is the item that you must not forget to send. Whether you want to send a couple of big bills or a bunch of smaller ones, they will really appreciate that. Coins are also welcomed if they have to do their wash at a coin-operated laundry. Of course, school supplies are needed, too. Pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, and anything else you can think of that they might need.

One really nice thing that you can do for your loved one in a holiday care package when they are up at college is to put their Christmas stocking in it and stuff it with all kinds of goodies. Little things will mean a lot, especially when they are working so hard during the weeks before the holiday.

Make your care package with love. Keep your loved one in mind as you go about your holiday time. Welcome them home with open arms and have a wonderful time celebrating the holidays.
